The short version
Zona Dron helps you check whether you can fly somewhere and prepare the paperwork. It is not an official service, it can be wrong and it does not decide for you: whoever flies is always the one responsible for the flight. Using the app means accepting these terms.
Who makes it
Zona Dron is an app by Jorge Cuadrado, an independent developer. He can be reached through the repository’s issues: https://github.com/DKNS-JCC/zonadron/issues.
What it is and what it is not
- It is an independent reference tool. It is not an official service and is not affiliated with ENAIRE, AESA, Aena, the Spanish Ministry of the Interior or any airspace manager.
- The data comes from third parties (ENAIRE, IGN, Catastro, MITECO, Open-Meteo, OpenStreetMap and others, listed in the privacy policy). The app shows it as received and interprets it as faithfully as it can, but it may be incomplete, out of date or unavailable.
- Data downloaded for offline use is as of the download date, which the app shows. Anything published afterwards is not in it.
- It does not replace the official AIP publication, NOTAMs, the regulations in force — in particular Regulations (EU) 2019/947 and 2019/945 and Royal Decree 517/2024 — or what the manager of each zone tells you.
Your responsibility as a pilot
The app’s verdict is for guidance only. Before flying, making sure the flight is legal and safe, holding the permissions, training, registration and insurance that apply, and flying prudently is your responsibility as pilot or operator. If the app disagrees with an official source or with what the manager tells you, the official source and the manager prevail.
The documents it prepares
The app can prepare drafts of authorisation requests, aeronautical studies (EARO), notifications and other documents from your details and from public templates.
- They are drafts: you review them, complete them and, where appropriate, sign them. What is submitted under your name is yours.
- The app sends nothing by itself. E-mails open in your own mail app and you send them.
- Each manager has its own criteria and may ask for its own template, more information or a different procedure. The app does not guarantee that a document will be accepted, that an authorisation will be granted, or how long a reply will take.
Purchases
If the app offers anything paid, the purchase is made through Google Play and is governed by Google Play’s terms, including refunds. A one-time purchase gives access to what was bought for as long as the app remains published and the feature exists; it is tied to your Google account and can be restored from the app on another device with that account.
Whether a flight is legal or safe is never charged for.
Acceptable use
Do not use the app to bulk-download data from the services it queries, to overload them or for anything unlawful. The app and its code belong to their author; what may be done with the code is set out in its licence. Third-party data belongs to its owners and is used under their terms.
No warranty and limitation of liability
The app is provided as is, with no warranty that it is error-free, that the data is accurate or that it is available at all times. To the extent permitted by law, the author is not liable for damages, penalties or losses resulting from decisions made on the basis of the app, from errors or delays in third-party data, or from a document prepared with it being rejected.
Nothing in these terms limits the rights the law grants to consumers or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Changes
These terms may change when the app changes. The version in force is the one published on this page, with its date, and significant changes are mentioned in the release notes of the corresponding version.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, you may go to the courts of your place of residence.
